Wonderful Feeling

Who will buy this wonderful feeling?
I’m so high I swear I could fly
Me oh my, I don’t want to lose it
So what am I to do,
to keep the sky so blue
There must be someone who will buy

I am in an exceptionally good mood today, and for no apparent reason. My house is a mess; I have not worked out this week like I hoped too; I spent way too much money getting my brakes fixed last weekend, which has thrown off all my other bills. But, I am in a great mood. I feel like going outside and skipping in the rain. (oh yeah, and it’s a rainy day to boot–maybe I’m made for Seattle after all!)
Anyway, I’m having a wonderful day, enjoying life despite the fact that the things that we seem to think should make us happy aren’t really happening for me at the moment. Begs the question, “What really makes you happy?”
While you’re working on that question (as am I) here’s hoping you have a wonderfully spectacular day and that it may fly in the face of all that will try to dampen your spirits.
Here’s to skipping in the rain….barefoot!!
Peace.

  1. Good friends, good food, good drinks and deep joyful emotions. Anything that puts me in a state of peace close to what prayer can do for my soul. Have a great holiday weekend!!

  2. What makes me happy? I have NO idea!

Well, there are a few things. French fries, a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup, collard greens and hot water cornbread, Golden Grahams! Anybody sensing a trend here?

Does anything inedible make me happy? Hmmmm…

A genuine compliment from a gentleman. A warm blanket, a good book, and peace and quiet. My kids sleeping. Road trips!

And music. Music has the power to make me feel. That’s an incredible power, if you know me.

  3. Food used to make me happy, but it’s losing it’s appeal. I have had the hardest time picking places to eat while I’m traveling. I just want to be unhungry, doesn’t matter how I get there. I’m going to start ordering steamed rice at Chinese restaurants for $1.25. That’ll work nicely in the budget…and it’s filling.

Good friends make me happy, provocative conversation, feeling heard and understood. A sense of freedom makes me happy. Having choices and a sense of control over my life make me happy. I guess then it should follow that a certain degree of delusion is happy-making.

To have a backpack with the essentials, a passport and enough money to travel the world and meet interesting people while lending a hand to somehow make the world a better place would make me happiest of all. I think.
